Also dont forget Halloween is coming up and its an Irish Tradition ;-)
The great thing about Ireland is the amount of things to do and see from experiencing our lively pub culture to visiting some of our most ancient monuments and sites, some being some of the oldest in the world.
Visit some of our most beautiful scenery which stretches relentlessly from one end of our relatively small island to the other, from the uniquely formed hexagonal pillars on “Giant’s Causeway” in the North to one of our most famous historic castles and the legend of kissing of the famous “Blarney Stone” in Blarney Castle near the city of Cork in the far south. (Check our ‘geography’ and tourism sections.)
We have some of the best music and dancing in the world and are very proud of our traditional Irish instruments songs and famous singers and bands. (U2, The Dubliners, The Corrs, Sinead O’Connor, Enya to name only a few. We love Céilís (Irish dance nights) and festivals, the most famous being St Patrick’s Day, our national holiday and Halloween, and old Celtic festival.
Learning English in Ireland. Learn English or improve your existing skills in one of the friendliest places in the world. Ireland has become a firm favourite among students interested in studying English abroad, and the country is buzzing with students from all over the world throughout the year. Visit Ireland in summer and you’ll be amazed at the wide cultural mix of students coming to study English here. Ireland is a great place to study the English language, regardless of your age and ability, as the warmth of the Irish people means you don’t have to be shy about practising speaking.
You can also learn about our famous history which you will experience first hand walking through the many emerald fields, buzzing streets, grand houses and buildings and crumbling mystical castles. Entwined throughout our history are our ancestral stories of mythology and Celtic spirituality.
My grandmother once told me that half the world is Irish and the other half wishes they were! If you think you might have Irish heritage check our Irish Names section to see if your name is there and we will tell you what it means! If your name is not there is doesn’t mean that we wont give you ‘a hundred thousand welcomes’ when you come to visit us.
Remember – there are no strangers in Ireland … only friends that you have not met yet!
